About
Just a mile south of downtown Nashville, somebody built a guesthouse that ended up in the hands of The Avery Set. It was in this small, unassuming, cabin-like bungalow that the band recently wrote and recorded their third album, appropriately titled, From a Guest House. With limited resources and experience, the album was initially deemed to be nothing more than an experiment. However, as the ideas were gradually realized onto tape, the sound that was there proved worthy enough to eventually be called a new album. It wasn’t the production value that was so pleasing, but a sound that represented the band in its most basic form; a group of friends who enjoy playing music together.
The Avery Set has been thriving for seven years since its inception in the small town of Frankenmuth, Michigan. Long time friends, and the only original members of The Avery Set Chris Zehnder and Jake Bartlett started the band in high school. Throughout the years, they both toured numerous Midwestern and Southern states with a few different members before permanently ending up with bass player and songwriter Jacob Johnson. With Jacob, The Avery Set has built an act that they are proud to call their own. Now residing in Nashville, Tennessee, The Avery Set has found a hub from which they can record and tour on their own terms.
Throughout its years of existence, the motive of The Avery Set has always remained the same; to make good music while enjoying each other’s company. The energy of its counterparts makes the band what it is. The stories, travels, shortcomings, and histories of its members intermingle to make it the satisfying experience that music should be.
